FAQ's
Q. Where can I register?
A. You can only register online. You must create an account or use an existing account to register the players and all payments are made by credit card.
Q. When can I register?
A. Registration is open from January 1 through March 1.
Q. What is late registration?
A. Late registration is a bad idea! Please register on time.
Late registration is available from March 2 through March 25, but it is not the same as regular registration. Not only is there an additional $65 fee, but players may not have uniforms for opening day, parents may need to pick up uniforms directly from our supplier, and players in Grades K – 3 may not be on teams with players from their elementary schools. For players in Grades 4 through 8, we may not be able to provide a tryout opportunity for the Atlantic or American leagues or for the travel teams for late registrants.
Q. What program should I register for?
A. In Grades K – 3, there is one program for all players in each grade. In Grades K – 2, all regular registrant players are placed on teams by elementary school. In Grade 3, the elementary schools are mixed but our goal is to have several players from an elementary school on a team, so every regular registrant player has friends on the team. In all cases we attempt to balance the teams by skill as best we can. Please note that we do not accommodate requests to place particular players together (or apart).
In Grades 4 and 5, there is a selective Atlantic league that requires a tryout and a non-selective Pacific league. The Atlantic league is likely to be made up of mostly 5th graders and some of the strongest 4th grade players. Selection to the Atlantic is made on the basis of the previous season’s coaches’ ratings and the results of a tryout. The tryouts will be on March 13 and 14 at 7 am at the Underdome in Mt. Vernon. Players need only attend one day, and we will let you know which day once registration is complete.
In Grades 6, 7 and 8, there is a selective American division that requires a tryout and a non-selective National division. 8th graders have the choice to play in either the American or National division.
The American division will probably be made up of 8th graders, some of the stronger 7th graders and possibly a few of the very strongest 6th graders. The selection process is similar to that for the Atlantic and Pacific leagues. These tryouts will be on March 20 and 21 at 7 am at the Underdome in Mt. Vernon. Players need only attend one day, and we will let you know which day once registration is complete.
The National Division will have 6th and 7th graders across most skill levels, and should offer a very good level of play because of the strong nucleus of players in both grades.
Grades 7 and 8 each will also have one selective travel team. This team will be chosen in the same process as the American division. 7th grade travel players will also play in the American division, but will be expected to attend only half of their team’s games.
Q. When does the season start?
A. Practices will start during the week of April 4. For the first weekend of the season, April 10-11, there will be mandatory clinics for all players (except K). Opening Day is Saturday, April 17.

Q. How do I register to manage or coach a team?
A. When you log on to your account at scarsdalelittleleague.com, you should see the player as well as the parents. By registering the parent, you will have the chance to indicate your interest. Please be sure to do so since we use the registrations to know who is interested in being a manager or coach.
Q. When will I hear about my team
assignment?
A. Your coach will be in touch with you when the teams have been formed, typically 10 days before the start of the season. Players who tryout for the selective leagues or the travel teams will hear about the tryout results before they are assigned to a team.
